Hunters are some of the most ingenious and resourceful individuals ever to inhabit our planet. The cerebral capacity required to rationalize the cruelty perpetrated on innocent animals as sport has to be immense. Of all the behaviors that make it hard to look at ourselves in the mirror, hunting would have to be near the top.
The again, if we are hunters, we might have a different perspective. Hunting is a sport, innate in humans, a time-honored tradition requiring courage and the challenge of the elements, an opportunity for parents to bond with children. Hunting protects the public, thins the herds to assist in preventing animal starvation, with license fees contributing to wildlife conservation. Besides humans have dominion over animals who don’t have souls and don’t experience pain in the same way we do.
