Top 10 Reasons to Think that the "Dumb Animals" Might Be Us

How we perceive them, how we deny their pain and suffering, how we abuse and use them, how we underestimate their contributions, and how we malign them will surely go down in the annals of history as a black mark on the human race. That is, if we are still around to record it.
For all our advancements, technology, accomplishments, and progress, we have failed miserably when it comes to our recognition and treatment of animals. We must begin to realize, before it is too late, that humans and the 1.75 million species on this planet are partners with our fates in each other’s hands. Actually, only our fate is at stake.
We arrogantly consider ourselves in charge of the planet, yet we are dependent on other species for our existence; no species is dependent on us. If humans become extinct the planet would prosper: the atmosphere would stabilize, and endangered species would blossom. Consequently, it’s time we reassess our place on this planet before the dumb animals are no longer a part of it.
