Top 20 Reasons Why Calcium Should Be Acquired from Plant-Source Foods Only

Contrary to popular belief, calcium does not originate from a cow’s udder. This mineral, like all minerals, was baked into the earth upon its formation. The fact is, plants easily meet the role of satisfying our calcium needs. Could it be possible Nature intended to use plants as sort of a nutrient-delivery food system, pulling up minerals from the earth into the root, seed, fruit, flower, leaf, and stem of the plant to meet our needs? Could any design be more simple and elegant?
Also contrary to popular belief, calcium’s number one priority IS NOT to keep our bones dense and strong. In fact, it doesn’t even make the top three. Calcium’s first, second, and third duties are to regulate nerve and muscle functions, assist in clotting, and balance our blood’s pH. It only appears to be the top priority because we have so much trouble keeping our bones dense and strong. However, the problem isn’t getting enough calcium, the problem is keeping it.
Our choice to consume meat, fish, dairy and eggs results in an acidic protein assault on our bloodstreams requiring neutralization. Our blood turns to calcium from the bones for help, like we turn to calcium in the antacids to tame too much stomach acid. It shouldn’t surprise us then, that no matter how much calcium we consume by way of dairy products or supplements—even if we latched our mouths onto the udder of a cow for three hours each day—if we have chosen an animal-centered diet we have chosen a perpetual a calcium deficit.
